On May 20, 2018, in the Official Gazette No. 30426, the Regulation on Amendments to the Associate and Bachelor's Degree Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University was published, which defines the maximum duration of study in Article 6, Paragraph 1 as follows: “Students must complete the associate degree programs with a maximum duration of four years, the bachelor's degree programs with a maximum duration of seven years, and the bachelor's degree programs with a maximum duration of eight years, within nine years for programs with a maximum duration of six years, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are registered in are offered, regardless of whether they have registered for each semester or not. The periods of leave and registration freeze are not taken into account in the calculation of the maximum education-teaching duration. The maximum durations of study are calculated according to the provisions of Law No. 2547.”

The 2nd Paragraph a) Clause of the same article states: “At the end of the maximum duration of study, students in their final semester who have fulfilled the attendance requirement will be granted two additional exam rights for all courses they have failed, regardless of the number of courses. After the two additional exams granted, if a student cannot reduce the number of courses they need to pass to graduate, including those they have never taken and for which they did not fulfill the attendance requirement, to five or below, their relationship with the University will be terminated.” Therefore, those who wish to benefit from the additional exams specified below must apply to the student affairs of our Vocational School with the petition attached. STUDENTS WHO TOOK ADDITIONAL EXAMS IN SEPTEMBER 2018 CANNOT BENEFIT FROM THIS RIGHT.

Our Vocational School, in accordance with the Management Board Decision dated 13.09.2018 and numbered 84/1 and Article 6 (a) of the Examination Regulation of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, has canceled the registration of students who have completed the maximum duration of study. Those who comply with the provisions a, b, c, ç, f of the relevant regulation will be granted the opportunity to take the additional exams on the condition that they apply with the petition attached, according to the Senate decision dated 18.12.2018 and numbered 340/27. The 1st Additional Exam: January 23-31, 2019, and the 2nd Additional Exam: February 4-8, 2019 will be held. Students who apply for the exam must bring their high school diplomas with them when coming to the exam.

Students participating in the exam must deposit their fees into the Halkbank accounts of our School and submit their receipts to the student affairs along with their petitions.
